Terms and Conditions
Last Updated: 23 October 2026
1. What this site is
The Richest in the World (the "Site") is an independent site that ranks and comments on publicly available figures about the richest people, companies, footballers, superstars, politicians and royals in the world. Each ranking entry names its source (for example Forbes, companiesmarketcap.com or Wikipedia) and the date of the figure. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated on behalf of any person or company named on it, any government agency, or any news outlet whose content is referenced. All trademarks belong to their owners.
2. Acceptance of these terms
By clicking Enter on the welcome dialog, or by otherwise accessing any page of the Site, you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, you must leave the Site.
3. Editorial nature of the content
Most articles on the Site fall into one of three categories: feed (commentary written by Site editors and AI assistants under editorial supervision), Richest-news (curated headlines that link back to their original outlet), and briefing (daily summaries). Net worth figures are estimates by third parties and can differ between sources; they are not financial advice. The Site does not verify them independently.
4. Accuracy and no fabrication rule
The Site's editorial standard forbids the fabrication of quotes, numbers, names or dates. Daily articles may only use facts from the source headlines they link to. If you find a factual error, please tell us through the contact form on the Advertise page and we will correct or annotate it.
5. Opinion, not advice
Rankings and lists on The Richest in the World are opinion and entertainment. Nothing on the Site is investment, financial, legal or professional advice about any person, product or company named on it.
6. Third-party content and fair use
Where the Site quotes, links to, or paraphrases material from third-party publishers (Reuters, AP, Bloomberg, CNBC, Electrek, SpaceNews, Wikipedia and others), those quotations and references are made under recognised fair-use / Zitatrecht principles for the purpose of commentary, criticism, and scholarship. All third-party content remains the property of its respective publisher. Images from Wikimedia Commons are used under their respective licences.
7. Intellectual property in Site-original content
Original articles, layouts, code, and editorial curation on the Site are the property of the Site operators. You may quote briefly with attribution and a link back to the source article. You may not republish articles in full without written permission.
8. Featured Editors: articles and votes
Articles. Writers can send an article to the page Featured Editors. Publishing costs USD 49 per article, paid by card (Stripe) or by bank transfer to KIERO Verein Thun. Our editors review every article before publication for originality, sources, accuracy and tone; we may correct spelling and layout, never the meaning. If we do not publish an article, the fee is refunded in full. The writer confirms that the article is their own original work, that they hold the rights to it and that it is not defamatory or false; the writer is responsible for its content. The writer keeps the copyright and grants us a non-exclusive, free licence to publish the article on the Site, keep it online and quote it. We remove an article if a well-founded complaint shows that it breaks the law or these terms.
Votes. Readers can vote for published Featured Editors. Each vote costs USD 1.99. Votes are paid support, count once the payment has been received and are not refunded, except where the law requires it. Votes from chargebacks or fraudulent payments are removed.
Source status. A Featured Editor with 1,000 paid votes is considered a source of the Site: listed among our sources and eligible to be cited by our editors. It is not an endorsement of every article, and we may withdraw it for false or misleading work. Nothing written by Featured Editors is financial advice.
9. User conduct
You agree to use the Site only for lawful purposes. Do not attempt to compromise the Site's security, disrupt the availability of the Site for others, scrape at abusive rates, or use the Site's contents to defame or harass any person.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
The Site is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. The Richest in the World makes no warranties, express or implied, about the completeness, accuracy, or ongoing availability of any content, and specifically disclaims any liability arising from reliance on Site content for legal, financial, investment, medical, or investigative decisions.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, The Richest in the World and its operators will not be liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of, or inability to use, the Site.
12. Governing law and forum
These Terms are governed by the laws of Switzerland. Any dispute that cannot be resolved amicably shall be brought before the courts of Bern, Switzerland, without regard to conflict-of-laws provisions.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last Updated" date at the top of the page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Site after a revision constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
