Those Jeff Bezos hair transplant photos are fake

Amazon founder Jeff Bezos has not had a hair transplant. Images circulating on X, Threads and Bluesky showing Bezos, and actor Jason Statham, with substantially more hair than their usual shaved look are photo-editing fakery, AI or otherwise, The Verge reports. Both men are famously bald, and that has not changed in the last few days. In Bezos' case the fake pictures suggested a very fresh transplant. Some people who shared them claimed, or seemed to believe, they were real, and the posts were common enough that several Verge staffers saw them in their own feeds. In the era of easy AI fakery, not even the Amazon founder is safe from edited paparazzi shots, so check before you share.
