Elizabeth Holmes: From Silicon Valley Billionaire to Prison
By Ghostwriter KIERO SWISS · based on reporting by La Libre.be (French)
The Belgian daily La Libre.be asks who Elizabeth Holmes is: a former billionaire of Silicon Valley who is today in prison.
Her story belongs on any site about the richest people, because it shows the other side of the lists. A fortune on paper rests on the value investors give a company; when that value collapses, the fortune goes with it.
Our view: rich lists celebrate the winners, but every boom also produces fortunes that vanish. The difference between a lasting fortune and a paper one is a business that really works.

Our take:
The fastest fortunes can be the most fragile — Holmes's story is the rich list's cautionary tale.
